Family Dinner at Bethany
Bethany, June 23. - Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Stringham and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stringham of Batavia were entertained at a family dinner recently at the home of Rolla Hills.

ROLLA H. HILL, 75, DEAD AT BETHANY: CHAMPION SPELLER
Bethany Center, March 13, Rolla H. Hill, 75, one of the oldest members of Bethany Grange, died at his home yesterday afternoon(March 12, 1942.) He was the oldest and last of three sons born to Homer H. and Evelyn Harding Hill, and was born January 23, 1867.
Mr. Hill attended Wyoming Academy and Genesee Normal School and taught for two years at Bethany District School No. 4. He was Genesee County champion speller in the Western New York Spelling Bee in 1932. Mr. Hill's grandfather, Gilbert Hill, came from Connecticut early in the last century, and built the Hill homestead where both Mr. Hill and his father were born. He was an active member of the Bethany Center Baptist Church.
Mr. Hill's survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearl E. Stringham Hill, to whom he was married on August 6, 1902: a son, Arthur E. Hill: two nieces and many cousins. Two brothers and his mother died in California.
Funeral services for Mr. Hill will be held from his late home at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon and at Bethany Center Baptist Church at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. Elmer Harris will officiate. Interment will be in Bethany Center Cemetery.
